![]() Then, at the bottom, add folders you want your PS3 to access. Step 3: Go to Navigation/Share Settings and uncheck everything in the Thumbnails section (at the top). Step 2: Connect to the same network as your PS3. This will allow your PS3 to "see" your Mac. Step 1: Download and install PS3 Media Server (free). Then select it, click "Allow," then "OK." Go to Library > Media Sharing, and check "Share Media." Press "OK," then wait a few moments for your PS3 to show up as one of the devices. All personal folders (Photos, Videos, and Music) are selected by default, but if you have media in other folders, add them. Step 2: Go to Library > Add to Library and add folders you want your PS3 to access. ![]() Step 1: Download and install the latest version on Windows Media Player. ![]() Step 2: Go to Settings > Network Settings > Media Server Connection on your PS3 and set it to "Enabled." You can check your connection by going to Settings > Network Settings. IIRC, there's a Plex client for the PS3 and Plex is pretty good about detecting the network throughput and automatically decreasing quality to "fit".Step 1: Make sure your PS3 is connected to the same network (via Ethernet or wireless) as your computer. Dropping the transcode quality settings would alleviate the issue as would setting the transcode to reencode into a lower resolution.Īnother option would be to use Plex. Another possibility is that the PC simply can't handle the transcode though I would consider that to be a secondary possibility if this is the same PC you used in the past.Īre you in a position where you could feasibly connect one of the PS3s via a wire and see if the problem goes away? If it does then it's definitely the network that's at issue. On an 802.11g/n network this can happen with as few as two 1080p streams being sent simultaneously. After a certain threshold it requires more bandwidth than your wireless network has and things begin buffering/stuttering. I presume that this is the same PC that streaming used to work fine with? That sounds like a classic network bandwidth issue as the server spools up the transcode to the highest quality it's allowed to. Now, my movies and music will play for probablt about 10 seconds and then skip and then play and skip. I have wmp PlayStation server and plea to be able to watch most of my movies and listen to my music. I'm ready to throw them all away and get xbox! I thought maybe it was something I downloaded when it initially started happening with wmp?! It's really shitty and whatever PlayStation did they need to fix. I have tried EVERYTHING I have found on the internet, and I can't for the life of me figure out why it is doing this. It it is the most obnoxious thing ever!!!! It has taken everything out of my soul to not throw my tv remote at tv. I used to only use wmp to stream movies and music to all of my ps3s however, a few months ago my ps3 was not showing all the movies and music I had, so I downloaded PlayStation server. They all dlna from one wired desk top computer wirelessly. Okay, so i I have tried looking for solutions to this problem for a while now.
